Junebug Stitch

I named the Junebug stitch this way, because I unfortunately do not know if it has an official name. If you know it, feel free to write it in the comments.

I used that stitch on the Junebug Top. You are welcome to use the following description to practice the stitch before you start with the Junebug Top. But of course also to get creative yourself.

Techniques:

You should master these basic techniques: Knit stitch – purl stitch – yarn over – cast on – cast off.

Slip 1 yarn over: Slip the yo purlwise. Pay close attention to whether the yo is slipped first and then another yo is made, or vice versa.

Purl all yo together: Insert the needle in all 5 yo at the same time. Purl all yo at the sime time.

Knit 2 together Insert the right knitting needle into the next two stitches at the same time and knit them as if it were one stitch.

Row 1: Knit 6. Yo. Knit 2 tog.

Row 2: Purl 1. Slip 1 yo. Yo. Purl 6.

Row 3: Knit 6. Yo. Slip 2 yo. Knit 1.

Row 4: Purl 1. Slip 3 yo. Yo. Purl 6.

Row 5: Knit 6. Yo. Slip 4 yo. Knit 1.

Row 6: Purl 1. Purl 5 yo tog. Purl 6.

Row 7: Knit 3. Yo. Knit 2 tog. Knit 3.

Row 8: Purl 4. Slip 1 yo. Yo. Purl 3.
