The Garter Stitch is the simplest knitting pattern of all. It consists only of knit stitches and is therefore the perfect knitting pattern for beginners.
Techniques:
Knit 1 stitch: Insert the right needle from left to right into the next stitch on the left needle. The working yarn is behind the project. Wrap the working yarn once from back to front around the right needle. Now pull the working yarn with the right needle through the stitch in which you have inserted the needle. You now have a new stitch on your right needle. Let the stitch on your left needle slip off the needle.
Stitch:
Row 1 and all uneven rows: Knit all stitches.
Row 2 and all even rows: Knit all stitches.
You are still a knitting beginner and want to start with a simple knitting pattern? Then test the Garter Stitch. You will definitely succeed.
